Maple Leafs Record vs. Red Wings Since 2005: 2-1

Maple Leafs Likely Goalie: Jonas Gustavsson

Red Wings Likely Goalie: Chris Osgood

Maple Leafs Top Scorer: Tomas Kaberle (2 goals, 18 points)

Red Wings Top Scorer: Henrik Zetterberg (4 goals, 13 points)

Injury Report:Stanley Cup losers Detroit will be without Johan Frazen (knee, pussy), Filppula (wrist) and Lilja (post-concussion symptoms). Brad May is questionable (eye).

The Leafs will be without Mike Van Ryn (knee)

Preview Notes: This is the first and only game of the season between this two Original Six rivals.

In the all-time series (regular season and playoffs) Toronto has 332 wins, 333 losses and 93 ties against Detroit. The Maple Leafs hold an edge in goals scored, beating the Red Wings 2155-2144.

Osgood is suddenly on a hot streak in net (3 game win streak), and his opponent Gustavsson has been great as well (going 2-0-3 since returning from injury).

With Toronto playing better lately and the Red Wings not having the scoring touch of seasons past, this game just might not be the blow out we expected 2 weeks ago. With the Wings still crying about the Penguins, maybe the Leafs can take advantage. But probably not.
