Edmonton Hates the Northeast

Three Stars:
1. Ryan Miller (pure domination)
2. Ales Hemsky (1 assist)
3. Tim Connolly (2 assists, didn't get injured!)

Final Score:
Buffalo Sabres: 3
Edmonton Oilers: 1

Goalie Stats
Ryan Miller: SV: 28 SV%: .966 GA: 1
The 'Bulin Wall: SV: 23 SV%: .920 GA: 2

Recap Notes:
- I don't care if Steve Montador scored... he still sucks
- Only think he's good at is getting punched in the face
- Ryan Miller is ridiculous this season
- Guess he REALLY wants to make Team USA
- Clarke MacArthur is gonna be in trouuuuuuuuuuuuuuble
- That hit looked worse than a Penguins power play
- Don't listen to the senile Pat Quinn... MacArthur had no intent
- Thomas Vanek is killing my fantasy team

Preview: Oilers vs Sabres

Buffalo Sabres Record: 9-4-1 (1st in the Northeast)

Edmonton Oilers Record: 8-8-2 (4th in the Northwest)

Sabres Record vs. Oilers Since 2005: 3-0

Sabres Likely Goalie: Ryan Miller

Oilers Likely Goalie: Nikolai Khabibulin

Sabres Top Scorer: Tim Connolly (4 goals, 13 points)

Oilers Top Scorer: Dustin Penner (11 goals, 22 points)

Injury Report: The Oilers will be without Marc Pouliot (sports hernia), Ryan Stone (knee), Shawn Horcoff (shoulder) and Sheldon Souray (concussion). Wayne Gretzky has been traded according to sources at ESPN. Ales Hemsky and J.F. Jacques are questionable.

Sabres back up goalie Patrick Lalime is out (groin) and defenseman Toni Lydman is questionable (groin).

Preview Notes: Oilers continue their tour through the Northeast Division and visit the Sabres.

Both teams are coming off extremely poor performances, with the Sabres learning that back up goalie Enroth isn't even close to ready for NHL action.

The Oilers are as terrible on the road this season as the Maple Leafs are... in general. With the Oilers missing several key members, this is the perfect opportunity for the Sabres (losers of 3 of 4) to get back on track.

Senators Come From Behind Twice, Win in Shootout

Three Stars:
1. Jason Spezza (shootout winner to cap the comeback)
2. Chris Neil (1 goal, being a douche)
3. Ethan Moreau (1 goal)

Final Score:
Ottawa Senators: 4
Edmonton Oilers: 3

Goalie Stats
Pascal Leclaire: SV: 31 SV%: .912 GA: 3
Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers: SV: 22 SV%: .880 GA: 3

Recap Notes:
- Oilers hate leads
- Cheechoo scores first goal since 2002 of the season
- Leclaire denies breakaways like Pierre McGuire denis heterosexual relations
- Daniel Aldredsson failed to get a point for the first time in 10 games
- Throw a parade! Senators only took two minor penalties!!!
- Oilers should get their flu shots
- Senators play again tomorrow against those limp dicks from Philly

Preview: Oilers vs. Senators

Ottawa Senators Record: 7-5-2

Edmonton Oilers Record: 8-8-1

Senators Record vs. Oilers Since 2005: 4-0-0

Senators Likely Goalie: Pascal LeClaire (5-4-1, GAA: 270)

Oilers Likely Goalie: Nikolai Khabibulin (7-7-1, GAA: 3.18)

Senators Top Scorer: Milan Michalek (7)

Oilers Top Scorer: Dustin Penner (10)

Injury Report: The Oilers have...ummm...alot. Marc Pouliot, Ryan Stone, Shawn Horcoff, Ales Hemsky, J.F. Jacques, Sheldon Souray. and Ladislav Smid all have some time on injury or another.

Volchenkov should be the only one out for the Senators

Preview Notes: Someone should really let the Senators know that games are not the best time to practice their penalty kill. Especially since their PK didn't work to well in their game against the Devils (they let up 3 PP goals). Seriously, they have a harder time staying out of the box than a male sex addict. Where the Senators can't seem to get out of their own way, the Oilers are just riddled with injuries (see above). Look a lot of penalties, some good goaltending ('bulin, not LeClaire) and probably for Chris Neil to punch someone.

Preview: Oilers vs. Bruins

Boston Bruins Record: 5-5-1

Edmonton Oilers Record: 7-5-1

Boston's Record vs. Edmonton Since 2005: 3-0-0

Boston's Likely Goalie: Tim Thomas (4-4-0, GAA: 2.86)

Edmonton's Likely Goalie: Nikolai Khabibulin (6-4-1, GAA: 3.22)

Boston's Top Scorer: Patrice Bergeron (4)

Edmonton's Top Scorer: Dustin Penner (9)

Injury Report: Same old story for the Bruins, Lucic and Savard are still out

Edmonton's injuries are plentiful. Ryan Stone, Steve Staios, Marc Pouliot, and Fernando Pisani are all on the IR. If that wasn't bad enough, they also have Lubomir Visnovsky, Sheldon Souray, and Mike Comrie are all DTD.

Preview Notes:
-This year, the Oilers are....good?
-Should the pattern continue, Bruins are guaranteed a win
-Boston has only lost to Edmonton once in the past 10 years
-In that time, the Bruins have given up 17 goals and scored 25
-Edmonton has more injuries than Gaborik's groin
-Thomas is reportedly having surgery to close is 5 hole

Preview: Canadiens Visit Oilers.

The Montreal Canadiens will travel to Edmonton in a Battle of Canada!!!!!!! Sorry, got excited. But not really.

This is the first meeting of the season between the teams. Montreal is coming off an absolute slaughter at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, a 7-1 rout.

The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a heart breaking loss to the rival Flames, as old man 'Bulin stayed up too late and fell asleep as David Moss poked the puck like Mike Richards pokes Pierre McGuire:

After opening the season with two victories, the Canadiens have shrunk back down to size, losing their past two.

Edmonton has lost twice to the Calgary Flames, once on the goal above and dropped another when the Flames tied the game with 1.5 seconds and then won in overtime.

"Disappointing, for sure. When you're losing points like that early in the season, it's tough," forward Ales Hemsky said of the missed opportunities against the Flames.

The Canadiens will be without Glen Metropolit who was injured against Buffalo. Ryan O'Byrne and Andrei Markov are out with scurvy.

Sheldon Souray suffered a mild concussion when he collided with Jarome Iginla on a clean hit, despite what the drunken Pat Quinn will tell you. He is a game time decision.

For now, enjoy some highlights from the 2/11/2009 match up between these two teams:
