Preview: Oilers vs Sabres

Buffalo Sabres Record: 9-4-1 (1st in the Northeast)

Edmonton Oilers Record: 8-8-2 (4th in the Northwest)

Sabres Record vs. Oilers Since 2005: 3-0

Sabres Likely Goalie: Ryan Miller

Oilers Likely Goalie: Nikolai Khabibulin

Sabres Top Scorer: Tim Connolly (4 goals, 13 points)

Oilers Top Scorer: Dustin Penner (11 goals, 22 points)

Injury Report: The Oilers will be without Marc Pouliot (sports hernia), Ryan Stone (knee), Shawn Horcoff (shoulder) and Sheldon Souray (concussion). Wayne Gretzky has been traded according to sources at ESPN. Ales Hemsky and J.F. Jacques are questionable.

Sabres back up goalie Patrick Lalime is out (groin) and defenseman Toni Lydman is questionable (groin).

Preview Notes: Oilers continue their tour through the Northeast Division and visit the Sabres.

Both teams are coming off extremely poor performances, with the Sabres learning that back up goalie Enroth isn't even close to ready for NHL action.

The Oilers are as terrible on the road this season as the Maple Leafs are... in general. With the Oilers missing several key members, this is the perfect opportunity for the Sabres (losers of 3 of 4) to get back on track.
