Preview Notes: Montreal's defense has their work cut out for them tonight, they'll need to shut down Ovechkin since getting into a scoring match with him will be suicide. Having Semin out of Washington's line up will help soften the blow a little, but Montreal has their own injuries to cancel that out. Montreal doesn't have the most stellar road record (4-6-0) but they'll be trying to put together some kind of consistant win streak.

Gionta Out Indefinitely

The Montreal Canadiens got some bad news today as Brian Gionta will be out indefinitely with a broken foot. No news yet as to who gets the call up to replace him on the roster, or exactly how long he'll be gone. With the Canadiens recent struggles this could not have come at a worse time.

Have Fun in the AHL Mathieu Carle

The Montreal Canadiens announced today that they have sent D-man Mathieu Carle back to their AHL affiliate Hamilton Bulldogs. Carle was held pointless in the 3 games he played. Judging by the picture above, he wants to be in Buffalo!

If the 53 save version of Price is in net tonight, just chalk up a victory for the Montreal Canadiens. If the "bad" Price is in net...well, you can probably still just give the Canadiens a victory. Preview Notes: Montreal has lost three straight at home and is looking for a booster chair boost to see over their dashboards get back on track. They travel to Hamilton Kansas City Winnipeg Phoenix to meet the low scoring Coyotes.

The Coyotes have been a surprise this season in the standings and in the fact that the NHL still wants to keep a team in a place that can't get more than 6,000 fans per game. However, the putrid Carey Price may be in luck tonight if he gets the start, as the Coyotes have the inability to score. Although they will probably break out of that slump by facing Price.

Have fun watching this game Coyotes fans, because the team just may head back to Canada with the Canadiens!

The mighty midgets from Montreal will be without Matt D'Agostini (concussion), Ryan O'Byrne (knee), Hal Gill (lead feet), Andrei Markov (severed ankle tendons) and Georges Laraque (back). Not having Gill or Laraque should actually be a benefit to the Canadiens.

Preview Notes: Calgary won the first meeting of the season 4-3. This is the last meeting of the season between these two Canadian franchises.

Calgary's captain and resident bad ass Jarome Iginla is on fire lately (NO PUN INTENDED). He has 6 goals and 10 points in his last 7 games.

Miikka Kiprusoff gives the Flames a HUGE advantage over the tandem of Halak/Price. Although seriously... the D in front of the Habs goalies has been less than stellar and the Flames will most likely put up some serious points tonight.

Rumor is that the Canadiens will be wearing their throwback red and green uniforms from the 1910-1911 season. They can't be any worse than those prison uniforms, can they? Ever wonder if the Canadiens players try to refuse to put on these throw back jerseys?

Vincent Lecavalier returns home to Montreal as Canadiens fans cry that they didn't pull off a trade for him. He would probably be the tallest player in their team and get all the neat toys. Alex Tanguay also returns to face his former team and will likely continue to be a fantasy hockey disappointment.

Price looked sharp in his last game against the Bruins, but let's be honest... Peter Budaj would look strong against the Bruins these days. Montreal is undefeated this season in shootouts/overtime.

Both teams have struggled with consistency, but hey one of them has to win today!

The Montreal Canadiens picked up Jay Leach off of waivers today from the New Jersey Devils.

Leach is a former Providence Bruin, and the big club most likely sent him to Montreal via New Jersey to get inside info on the Habs. He is also married to NESN's Kathryn Tappen, who is not attractive. At all.

Preview Notes: When I say best rivalry ever, I don't mean in hockey, I mean any sport (well admittedly I don't know much about soccer...or cricket, but those are stupid). There's not another match up that matches the intensity and physicality as a Bs/Habs match up.

This game is going to be important for both teams, neither of which have gotten off to the type of start they would like. More than anything, this should serve as a momentum boost for the victor.

Only one point separates these two teams. Bruins can't seem to get their offense going, while the Canadien's defense is leaving a lot to be desired. They have been goaltending issues on both sides of the ice too. Match ups don't get much better than this, watch it!

Hal Gill Injured, No One Notices

We're a little late on this, but things are finally getting back to normal here at Adams Division

Cement footed defensive liability Hal Gill will miss a couple weeks after injuring his foot in practice. As you saw last night, Mathieu Carle has been called up to replace Gill.

If that doesn't work out, we are told the Canadiens will just place a road cone on the ice, which will probably be more effective than Gill.
