1. Jonas Gustavsson
2. Jonas Gustavsson
3. Jonas Gustavsson

Final Score:
Detroit Red Wings: 1
Toronto Maple Leafs: 5

Goalie Stats
Jonas Gustavsson: SV: 35 SV%: .972 GA: 1
Chris Notgood : SV: 23 SV%: .821 GA: 5

Recap Notes:

-Way to lose all credibility Red Wings.
-Kessel got his first goal for Toronto tonight, he also picked up an assist. Must be the power of the Chemo.
-All 5 Toronto goals came from different players.
-Gustavsson continues to be awesome.
-Sorry Maple Leafs...I'm not ready to say you're turning it around yet, you need more than 3 wins for that.

Hall of Fame Game: Wings vs Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs Record: 2-7-5 (Last in the Northeast)

Detroit Red Wings Record: 7-4-3 (3rd in the Central)

Maple Leafs Record vs. Red Wings Since 2005: 2-1

Maple Leafs Likely Goalie: Jonas Gustavsson

Red Wings Likely Goalie: Chris Osgood

Maple Leafs Top Scorer: Tomas Kaberle (2 goals, 18 points)

Red Wings Top Scorer: Henrik Zetterberg (4 goals, 13 points)

Injury Report:Stanley Cup losers Detroit will be without Johan Frazen (knee, pussy), Filppula (wrist) and Lilja (post-concussion symptoms). Brad May is questionable (eye).

The Leafs will be without Mike Van Ryn (knee)

Preview Notes: This is the first and only game of the season between this two Original Six rivals.

In the all-time series (regular season and playoffs) Toronto has 332 wins, 333 losses and 93 ties against Detroit. The Maple Leafs hold an edge in goals scored, beating the Red Wings 2155-2144.

Osgood is suddenly on a hot streak in net (3 game win streak), and his opponent Gustavsson has been great as well (going 2-0-3 since returning from injury).

With Toronto playing better lately and the Red Wings not having the scoring touch of seasons past, this game just might not be the blow out we expected 2 weeks ago. With the Wings still crying about the Penguins, maybe the Leafs can take advantage. But probably not.

You Know You Suck When Osgood Shuts You Out

Three Stars:
1. Chris Osgood (shutout)
2. Pavel Datsyuk
3. Tomas Holmstrom (is a piece of shit)

Final Score:
Detroit Whiners Red Wings: 2
Boston Bruins: Nil. Nothing. Zero. Goose Egg. 0.

Goalie Stats
Chris Not Os-good As Fleury: SV: 29 SV%: Perfect GA: 0
Tim Thomas: SV: 24 SV%: .923 GA: 2

Recap Notes:
- Red Wings were missing two of their top 6 D-men... Bruins still couldn't score
- The guy in that movie 40 Year Old Virgin scoreds more than the Bruins
- If the Bruins simply learned to shoot high when a goalie is down on the ice they'd score more
- I mean really... if the goalie is down... and the top of the net is wide open... why shoot the puck right into the goalie's pads?!
- Bruins are playing better defensively
- That means nothing if you don't win
- Although... the posts behind Osgood are pretty sore today
- Look forward to all the upcoming "Bruins Should've Kept Kessel!!!" articles
- Bruins should come out angry against their hated rivals tomorrow night

Sabres Decide They Can Score, Beat Wings

The Buffalo Sabres scored more goals last night than they had scored in their previous three games to beat the Detriot Runner-ups Red Wings 6-2.

The Sabres (3-0-1) had been relying solely on Ryan Miller thus far this season but suddenly had an offensive explosion.

The first period included an exchange of power play goals with secondary assists from guys named Jason, as the Sabres' Drew Stafford scored first (assisted by Paul Gaustad and Jason Pominville). Detroit answered three minutes later as Valterri Filppula scored (assisted by Niklas "Can't Hit Without Leaving My Skates" Kronwall and Jason Williams.

In the second period, the Sabres decided it was business time and they ran wild all over the Red Wings. Patrick Kaleta and Clarke MacArthur would score one each and Tomas Vanek would add 2 before leaving with an "upper body injury."

Paul Gaustad scored for the Sabres in the third and Tomas Holstrom interfered scored for the Red Wings but they could not muster anything after that.

The flurry of goals in the second period saw the Sabres score four times on seven shots before Babcock realized his top goalie is Chris "Not Os-good As Fleury" Osgood and yanked him.

Buffalo is off to a great start and leads the Northeast Division by one point in this young season.

The Sabres are back in action Friday when the New York Tavares' come to town.

Preview: Red Wings Visit Buffalo

Tonight the Buffalo Sabres welcome town cryer Kris Draper and the Detroit Red Wings.

After dropping two games to St. Louis to start the season the Red Wings have won back to back games at home.

Detroit has won 15 of 18 from the Sabres. They will bring along their strong power play, which is currently firing at 30 percent (the Red Wings led the league last year with 25.5 percent).

"The last game was our best game," Babcock told the Red Wings' official Web site of the win against the Capitals. "It was the first time that we skated like an NHL team since we've been back (from Sweden). We gave up an early goal, yet I didn't think it affected us very much. We just kept playing, which is important."

Buffalo is having trouble scoring so far this season but Ryan Miller has been very solid in net and will need to be on his game tonight against the Red Wings.

The Red Wings will potentially have another weapon in the line up tonight as Darren Helm may make his season debut after suffering a shoulder injury in the pre-season.

As seen on the official Sabres website, Detroit doesn't need any more help against the Sabres. The Red Wings are 15-1-1 with a tie in their last 18 games versus Buffalo dating to March 27, 1996, scoring 3.77 goals per meeting.

Buffalo has only let up three goals in three games this season, but has only scored four. Hopefully Buffalo can stay that strong tonight.

And remember Buffalo, shake hands at the end or you'll hear about it allllllllllllllll summer.
