Maple Leafs Top Scorer: Niklas Hagman (6)

Canadiens Top Scorer: Mike Cammalleri (5)

Injury Report: Toronto still anxiously awaits the return of Phil Kessel, who's probably regarded as some sort of potential messiah there. Tim Brent is also on the IR.

Markov is still CUT off the roster for Montreal and is paying the PRICE of his injuries.

Preview Notes:
-Original six match up
-Interdivisional match up
-Toronto still sucks
-So does Price
-Canadiens looking forward to a potential easy win after facing two of the top leagues in the NHL

Preview Notes:
- Senators won first meeting this season, 4-2
- Sens looking to rebound from a Maple Leafs like effort against Tampa
- Not exactly a news flash, but Thrashers not doing so hot since Kovalchuk went down
- Spezza may not play... but has he really been playing all season?
- Ottawa could use the two points to keep pace with those pesky Sabres
- Is anyone in Atlanta even paying attention to this team now that Kovalchuk is out?

- Tim Connolly had a hand in each of the Sabres points against Toronto
- Ex-Sabre Martin Biron is staring them down in net today
- Islanders not great, but better than expected

Habs Struggle, Blackhawks roll

Three Stars:
1. Kris Versteeg (1 goal, 1 assist, he was everywhere!)
2. Patrick Kane ( 2 assists, 4.5 misdemeanor assault charges)
3. Michael Cammalleri (1 goal)

Final Score:
chicago Blackhawk: 3
Montreal Canadiens: 2

Goalie Stats
Cristobal Huet: SV: 20 SV%: .909 GA: 2
Carey Price: SV: 33 SV%: .917 GA: 3

Recap Notes:
- Despite loss, Price played... well?
- He was a lot busier than Huet
- Price is used to balls flying at his face, not pucks
- Huet on a hot streak himself it seems...
- Patrick Sharp is a late bloomer, but still great
- Definitely a cheap shot by Andrew Ladd... his elbow was way up. Boo.
- Hal Gill continues to be a detriment to his team
- Cammalleri proving he can play without Iginla
- Huet let Moen score with 2.1 seconds left in the second... not cool
- Andrew Ladd's idol is Randy Savage
- Montreal gets a break with the Maple Leafs coming to town.

Connolly, Miller Burn Leafs

Three Stars:
1. Tim Connolly (2 goals, 1 assist, OT hero)
2. Ryan Miller (33 saves, still a beast)
3. Tomas Kaberle (2 assists, heating up?)

Final Score:
Buffalo Sabres: 3
Toronto Maple Leafs: 2

Goalie Stats
Ryan Miller: SV: 33 SV%: .943 GA: 2
Jonas Gustavsson: SV: 25 SV%: .893 GA: 3

Recap Notes:
- Ryan Miller is ridiculously good
- Tim Connolly is a great fantasy hockey sleeper, go pick him up
- Maple Leafs showing more fight, but still can't get it done
- Tomas Kaberle may just be auditioning for his future team...
- Gustavsson is good, not great, but has shitty team in front of him
- Grabovski had a nice late goal to tie it up and temporarily give the Leafs hope
- The Maple Leafs have no hope
- Ryan Miller is really, REALLY good

Preview: Canadiens vs Blackhawks!

Verses: Chicago Blackhawks

Montreal Canadiens Record: 6-6-0 (3rd in the Northeast)

Chicago Blackhawks Record: 7-4-1 (1st in the Central)

Canadiens Record vs. Blackhawks Since 2005: 2-1

Canadiens Likely Goalie: Carey Price. Just for fun Chicago is going to use beach balls instead of pucks.

Chicago Blackhawks Likely Goalie: Cristobal Huet

Canadiens Top Scorer: Mike Cammalleri (5 goals, 12 points)

Blackhawks Top Scorer: Patrick Sharp (5 goals, 10 points)

Injury Report: Jonathan Toews is questionable for tonight (concussion after getting his shit ruined).

The Canadiens are without Andrei Markov (knife fight with Price) and Ryan O'Byrne.

Preview Notes:
- Original Six match up
- Montreal's life time record against Chicago: 351 wins, 178 losses, 104 ties with 2,098 goals for and 1,575 goals against
- Brent Seabrook returns to the Chicago blueline tonight
- Chicago offense angry after shutout to Predators... look to molest Carey Price
- Rumor is that Price hopes he gets molested. But not in the way I meant it above.
- Poor kids from Montreal... first Pittsburgh's offense, then Chicago's
- Kane saw a trick or treater dressed like a cabbie. News at 11

Preview: Maple Leafs vs Sabres

Buffalo Sabres Record: 7-1-1 (1st in the Northeast)

Toronto Maple Leafs Record: 1-7-2 (Last in the Northeast/NHL)

Sabres Record vs. Maple Leafs Since 2005: 21-8-0-1

Sabres Likely Goalie: Ryan "Fantasy Gold" Miller

Maple Leafs Likely Goalie: Jonas Gustavsson

Sabres Top Scorer: Clarke MacArthur (5 goals, 7 points)

Maple Leafs Top Scorer: Tomas Kaberle (10 assists, 11 points)

Injury Report: Buffalo will be without Andrej Sekera (rib) and Toni Lydman (groin). Paul Gaustad is a game time decision (flu).

Toronto will be without Phil Kessel (shoulder, balls)

Preview Notes:
- First meeting this year for these divisional foes
- The Maple Leafs have not been the sure win they were earlier in the season these past 4 games. Doesn't mean they've been good, but hey they're only one point behind the Panthers!
- Sabres on 5 game win streak against Northeast opponents
- Maple Leafs have already given up and said just to throw another win and shutout on Ryan Miller's record
- Buffalo may be having concussion problems: Henrik Tallinder said rookie Tyler Myers is comparable to Zdeno Chara... skill wise.
- Toronto... surprisingly leads the league on the power play at 30.77%
- Toronto is also the worst on the penalty kill... 63.41%. Not surprising.

Stamkos, Lightning Bring A Game, Beat Sens C Game

Three Stars:
1. Steven Stamkos (2 goals, 1 assist)
2. Ryan Malone (1 goal, 2 assits)
3. David Hale (2 assists)

Final Score:
Tampa Bay Lightning: 5
Ottawa Senators: 2

Goalie Stats
Mike Smith: SV: 21 SV%: .913 GA: 2
Brian Elliot: SV: 22 SV%: .815 GA: 5

Recap Notes:
- The Ottawa Senators forgot there was three periods, not one, and never played until the third
- Chris Neil is the worst tough guy in the league. Loves hugs.
- Ryan Malone loves little kids, misses Pittsburgh
- St. Louis saw a fan he didn't like in the crowd on a penalty shot and fired it at him instead of Elliot
- Alex Kovalev would be great again if he would play up to his skill level
- That Stamkos kid is going to be good
- Brian Elliot is no Pascal Leclaire. Can't believe I just typed that
- That relic Alex TanGAY finally scored. Finally.
- They say you are what you eat. Well Chris Neil must go down on a lot of girls 'cause he's a pussy.
- Senators back in action tomorrow against the Kovalchuk-less Thrashers

Thomas Can't Close Legs, Bruins Lose

Three Stars:
1. Dainius Zubrus (1 goal, 57 traps)
2. Patrice Bergeron (1 goal, no concussions)
3. Yann Danis (31 saves, .969 GAA)

Final Score:
New Jersey Traps Devils: 2
Boston Cubs Bruins: 1

Goalie Stats
Yann Danis: SV: 31 SV%: .969 GA: 1
Tim "Gaping 5-hole" Thomas: SV: 29 SV%: .935 GA: 2

Recap Notes:
- The Boston Bruins couldn't score on Yann Danis.
- At least the B's finally played a full 60 minutes
- Need someone to finish in front of the net
- Much like a slut at a frat party, Tim Thomas couldn't close his legs
- Zdeno Chara will break your stick with a slap shot, even if he's not naked.
- Zdeno Chara's naked photo haunts my dreams
- The Trap makes this wonderful game boring.
- The Bruins couldn't score on Yann Danis.
- Patrice Bergeron has been the Bruins best player this season. Concussion now inevitable
- Jack Edwards may be the worst announcer in the league
- Thomas did play great... just some bad bounces. And a bad 5-hole.
- Bruins back in action tomorrow against the Oilers
- THE BRUINS COULDN'T SCORE ON YANN DANIS?!?!?!!?!?!?!

Sabres Giant Myers Staying

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that 6'8" defenseman Tyler Myers will remain with the big club, and not be returned to his junior team, the Kelowna Rockets.

Because he still has junior eligibility, the Sabres cannot assign Myers to the AHL.

Volchenkov Injured, Likely Out a Couple Weeks

The Ottawa Senators announced today that Anton Volchenkov will be out for at least a couple of weeks with an elbow injury. Volchenkov left last night's game in the third period and did not return.

The Senators have called up Brian Lee from Binghamton (their AHL affiliate) to replace Volchenkov.

Crosby, Penguins Teach Naughty Canadiens A Lesson

Three Stars:
1. Sidney Crosby (3 goals, get out the hats!)
2. Chris Kunitz (1 goal, 3 assists)
3. Bill Guerin (3 assists)

Final Score:
Pittsburgh Penguins: 6
Montreal Canadiens: 1

Goalie Stats
Marc-Andre Fleury: SV: 23 SV%: .958 GA: 1
Jaroslav Halak: SV: 19 SV%: .826 GA: 4
Carey Price: SV: 12 SV%: .857 GA: 2

Recap Notes: The Montreal Canadiens 4 game winning streak came to a screeching halt as Sidney Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury and the rest of the Pittsburgh Penguins showed Montreal how a real hockey team plays.

Fleury and the Penguins rebounded nicely from a sound drubbing by the New Jersey Trapazoids Devils and just absolutely molested the Canadiens.

Halak was pulled after two periods and 4 goals. Price went in and was... himself... and allowed 2 more on 14 shots.

Former Penguin and current Montreal road cone Hal Gill watched helplessly as his former team raped his team mates as he obstructed people in the neutral zone. Sidney Crosby scored the third hat trick of his career and is now on pace for 1,034,456 points this season. Imagine if he had real wingers playing with him.

With the victory over the Canadiens, Pittsburgh became the first team in the NHL to reach 10 wins this season.

Montreal will lick their wounds and return to action tomorrow night in Chicago against the explosive offense of the Blackhawks. Good luck Price/Halak.

Miller Machine Dominates The Devils

Three Stars:
1. Ryan Miller (31 saves, only allowed 1 goal)
2. Tim Kennedy (1 goal)
3. Zach Parise (1 assist, 7 shots on goal)

Final Score:
Buffalo Sabres: 4
New Jersey Devils: 1

Goalie Stats
Ryan Miller: SV: 31 SV%: .969 GA: 1
Martin Brodeur: SV: 23 SV%: .852 GA: 4

Recap Notes: The Buffalo Sabres stayed unbeaten on the road as one of my fantasy goalies completely schooled the other.

Ryan Miller outdueled Brodeur (this is becoming a common occurence this season), stopping 31 of 32 shots. Clarke MacArthur scored 81 seconds in and it was allllllll down hill after that for the Devils. How'd that trap work out for you this game?

Buffalo's next game is Friday when they welcome the Toronto Marlies Maple Leafs.

Kuba, Elliot Help Sens Euthansize Panthers

Three Stars:
1. Daniel Alfredsson (1 goal, 1 assist, 3 hits)
2. Filip Kuba (2 assists)
3. Jordan Leopold (2 assists)

Final Score:
Ottawa Senators: 4
Florida Pantehrs: 3

Goalie Stats
Pascal Leclaire: SV: 9 SV%: .900 GA: 1
Brian Elliot: SV: 26 SV%: .929 GA: 2
Tomas Vokoun: SV: 25 SV%: .862 GA: 4

Recap Notes: Nick Foligno and Jarkko Ruutu scored 38 seconds apart in the second period to basically give Ottawa the win over the Panthers.

Leclaire left the game early because he saw some highlights from the Maple Leafs-Stars game and got sick. Brian Elliot finished up the game for him and really kept the Senators alive.

The win puts the Senators 1 point behind the Sabres for Northeast supremancy. Ottawa continues their Florida vacation tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning!

Leafs... earn another point? Still Lose!

Three Stars:
1. Mike Ribeiro (1 goal, 1 assist)
2. Nikolai Kulemin (2 goals)
3.Brad Richards (2 goals)

Final Score:
Dallas Stars: 4
Toronto Maple Leafs: 3

Goalie Stats
Marty Turco: SV: 33 SV%: .917 GA: 3
Jonas Gustavsson: SV: 32 SV%: .889 GA: 4

Recap Notes: The Toronto Maple Leafs earned at least a point for their second straight game. Nope, not a typo. They really did!

Toronto fell to the Dallas Stars in overtime behind the strong play of Marty Turco. I feel dirty all over just typing that. Mike Ribeiro scored last to tie the game and James Neal capitalized on a juicy rebound in OT to give the Stars the victory. Unfortunately for Boston's draft chances the Maple Leafs are racking up points!!! Or not.

We here at Adams Division would also like to congradulate Mike Komisarek for going an entire game without scoring on his goalie or finishing with a minus. Here's to you Mikey!

Preview: Devils vs. Bruins

Verses: New Jersey Devils

Boston's Record: 5-4-1

New Jersey's Record: 6-4-0

Boston's vs. New Jersey Since 2005: 5-6-5

Boston's Likely Goalie: T. Thomas (4-3 GAA: 2.97)

New Jersey's Likely Goalie: M. Brodeur (6-3, GAA: 2.42)

Boston's Top Scorer: Marc Savard(IR) (4)

New Jersey's Top Scorer: Z. Parise (6)

Injury Report: Nothing new for Bruins for are still without Mark Savard and Milan Lucic for several more weeks.

New Jesery's got Patrik Elias is out with groin problems. Paul Martin and Jay Pandolfo are both out for over another month. Mike Mottau is still DTD with a sore hip.

Preview Notes: Please oh please New Jersey, have a start like you did last night. The Bs don't have a stellar record against New Jerseys, so a strong start is going to be crucial. In fact, have a whole game like you did last night. I'm also taking a total shot in the dark as to who's the starter goalie as at this point it doesn't seem like NJ knows either. Luckily for NJ, Boston tends to not enjoy playing at home very much. Also, if their loss-win-loss streak continues, then the Bruins are screwed.

UPDATE: The Devils will be starting Yann Danis in net tonight, it will be his first start of the season.

Preview: Senators vs. Lightning

Verses: Tampa Bay Lightning

Ottawa's Record: 5-2-2

Tampa Bay's Record: 3-3-3

Ottawa's vs. Tampa Bay: Since 2005: 12-3-2

Ottawa's Likely Goalie: Brian Elliot (1-0-1, GAA: 2.44)

Tampa Bay's: Likely Goalie: M. Smith (1-2-3, GAA: 3.36)

Ottawa's Top Scorer: M. Michalek (6)

Tampa Bay's: Top Scorer: S. Stamkos (7)

Injury Report: Not many, just Paul Ranger for TB, out of personal reasons, whatever that means.

Preview Notes: Well I was wrong about Elliot starting last night, but Leclaire had to leave due to illness, so lets just say I SHOULD have been right. Seeing as how Lecaire wasn't well enough to play a whole game last night, I don't see him starting tonight. This'll be Ottawa's second game in Florida, so it'll also probably be their 2nd straight win. If in fact the Sens do win, they'll overtake Buffalo and be number one in the northeast division.

Preview: Canadiens vs Penguins

Verses: Pittsburgh Penguins

Montreal's Record: 6-5-0

Pittsburgh's Record: 9-2-0

Montreal's Record vs. Pittsburgh Since 2005: 7-7-2

Montreal's Likely Goalie: Jaroslav Halak (4-1, GAA: 1.93)

Pittsburgh's Likely Goalie: Marc-Andre Fleury (8-1, GAA: 2.18)

Montreal's Top Scorer: Mike Cammalleri (5)

Pittsburgh's Top Scorer: Sidney Crosby (6)

Injury Report: Montreal's Olivier Fortier, Ryan O'Byrne, and Alex Henry are all sitting on the IR with various injuries. The biggie is still Andrei Markov who is still out for another 3 1/2 months coutesy of Mr. Price.

The Penguins will be without Maxime Talbot and Sergei Gonchar until November.

Preview Notes: I am assuming that Halak is getting the start tonight because I like to assume that Montreal isn't run by a bunch of helmet wearing retards. With four straight wins under his belt, it'd be foolish to take Halak out, even though he has not faced the Penguins in his career. Fleury suffered is first loss in his last start, but that shouldn't come into play much, look for the penguins to keep doing what they have been, because it's obviously working.

Preview: Senators vs Panthers

Verses: Florida Panthers

Ottawa's Record: 5-2-2

Florida's Record: 2-6-1

Ottawa's Record vs. Florida Since 2005: 10-4-2

Ottawa's Likely Goalie: Brian Elliott (1-1, GAA: 2.40)

Florida's Likely Goalie: Tomas Vokoun (1-7, GAA: 3.61)

Ottawa's Top Scorer: Milan Michalek (6)

Florida's Top Scorer: Steve Reinprecht (4)

Injury Report: Kuba should be coming back to Ottawa tonight, that's all to report for Ottawa.

David Booth and Radek Dvorak both went down in Florida's game against Philly, which will make winning even harder for them.

Preview Notes: Good god Florida sucks, but I have problems with teams in states that don't have ice. Leclaire should be starting, but he has the sniffles so Elliot more than likely will be looking to redeem himself after his epic breakdown against Boston last Saturday. Kuba's return should give an extra boost to an already solid Ottawa team.

Preview: Maple Leafs vs Stars

Verses: Dallas Stars

Toronto's Record: 1-7-1

Dallas's Record: 5-2-4

Toronto's Record vs. Dallas Since 2005: 0-3-0

Toronto's Likely Goalie: Jonas Gustavsson (1-2 GAA: 3.07)

Dallas's Likely Goalie: Marty Turco(3-5, GAA: 2.19)

Toronto's Top Scorer: Niklas Hagman (6)

Dallas's Top Scorer: Brenden Morrow (6)

Injury Report: Only injury really affecting Toronto is Vesa Toskala who is DTD with a knee injury, but seeing as how Gustavsson got the first win on the season, I'm sure no one cares much. Kessel is still nursing his shoulder for about another month. Tim Brent and Mike Van Ryn are also out

Jere Lehtinen, Mike Modano, and Matt Niskanen are all listed as DTD for Dallas, chances are we probably won't be seeing any of them play.

Preview Notes: This has the potential to be a close match up...how sad for Dallas. Leafs are sure to be all smiles coming into the game on a one win streak, and will look to increase that to a season best of two. As dirty as I feel saying this, Turco has been on a bit of a hot streak lately, so Toronto's shooters may have their work cut out for them (more so than usual). Dallas's resident bully Steve Ott will sit this game out after being suspended due to a cheap shot, big surprise there.

Preview: Sabres vs Devils

Verses: New Jersey Devils

Sabres Record: 6-1-1

Devils Record: 6-3-0

Sabres Record vs. Devils Since 2005: 6-7-0-3

Buffalo's Likely Goalie: Ryan Miller (6-0, GAA 1.69)

New Jersey Likely Goalie: Martin Brodeur (6-3, GAA 2.42)

Buffalo's Top Scorer: C. MacArthur (4)

New Jersey's Top Scorer: Z. Parise (6)

Injury Report: Buffalo will be without Andrej Sekera who is on the IR nursing his ribs. Toni Lydman is DTD with groin problems, it unclear whether or not he'll be playing.

New Jersey's injury situation is much more bleak, most notibly Patrik Elias is out with groin problems. Paul Martin and Jay Pandolfo are both out until December. Mike Mottau is DTD with a sore hip.

Preview Notes: This should be an excellent game and I highly recommend watching it if you can. Teams are evenly matched, however NJ lost their ice time leader Martin to a broken arm last Saturday, it'll be interesting to see how that affects things. Brodeur didn't start out as sharp as expected, but has definitely picked up his play. Miller on the other hand has been fantastic pretty much all season thus far.

Canadiens Love Overtime, Win Again

Three Stars:
1. Travis Moen (1 goal, 1 assist)
2. Jeff Tambellini (2 goals)
3. Roman Hamrlik (scored the overtime winner)

Final Score:
Montreal Canadiens: 3
New York Islanders: 2

Goalie Stats
Jaroslav Halak: SV: 29 SV%: .935 GA: 2
Martin Biron: SV: 28 SV%: .903 GA: 3

Recap Notes: After raising their overtime record to 4-0 on the season, there's a lot of stupid head lines out there like "It's not over 'till it's overtime!" You won't get that here. Plus we didn't think of it first. And it's lame.

But the Montreal Canadiens won yet another overtime game, this time a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders as Jaroslav Halak continues to do his best to make fans forget about Carey Price. Not even Carey Price wants to be Carey Price.

John Tavares was held without a point for the fourth straight game. Rumor is that he's been distracted because he can't find a date to his middle school formal.

The two teams alternated goals right until the game winner as the Islanders gave the Canadiens a much better game than that 5-1 molesting they experienced 4 days prior. Poor Islanders keep getting close to wins but can never quite finish it in overtime.

The Canadiens try to continue their win streak tomorrow against the defending champion Penguins!

Maple Leafs Los... Win?

Three Stars:
1. Niklas Hagman (Hat trick!)
2. Tomas Kaberle (1 goal, 4 assists)
3. Scott Niedermayer (2 assists, 5 hits, +1)

Final Score:
Toronto Maple Leafs: 6 (Really?!!?)
Anaheim Ducks: 3

Goalie Stats
Jonas Gustavsson: SV: 25 SV%: .893 GA: 3
Jonas Hiller: SV: 40 SV%: .870 GA: 6

Recap Notes: The Toronto Maple Leafs decided to do the exact opposite of everything they have done up to this point in the season. They took 46 shots, scored on 5 of 11 power plays and only took 3 penalties themselves on route to their first victory of the season.

Someone on the Ducks is getting fired today for being the first team to lose to the Maple Leafs... and Anaheim wasn't even competitive. Jonas Hiller seemed soft and every defenseman not named Scott Neidermayer seemed disinterested in playing anything resembling hockey.

Kaberle's 5 points were a career high, as were Lee Stempniak's 4. Petteri Nokelainen, Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry scored for the cake eating Ducks.

Gustavsson looked good in his first game in 3 weeks and made a couple of ridiculous saves (high lights below). But Anaheim took 17 penalties and played some sloppy seconds hockey, Sean Avery style. It was like watching an AHL team against an NHL team... except that the Maple Leafs play like an AHL team as well.

Toronto was supposed to visit the Dallas Stars tomorrow, but Brian Burke announced the team will not play the remainder of the season so they can eat on a win "streak." Yes, 1 is a streak for the Maple Leafs.

Here's some highlights... including George Parros' epic mustache fighting Colton Orr.

Preview: Leafs Travel West to Lose in the Sun

Verses: Anaheim Mighty Ducks

Toronto Maple Leafs Record: 0-7-1 (Last in the Northeast/NHL)

Anaheim Ducks Record: 3-5-0 (Last in the Pacific)

Maple Leafs Record vs. Ducks Since 2005: 1-1-0-1

Maple Leafs Likely Goalie: Jonas Gustavsson

Ducks Likely Goalie: Jonas Hiller

Maple Leafs top scorer Niklas Hagman (3 goals, 5 points, -1) and Mike Komisarek (two goals... into his own net)

Ducks top scorer Corey Perry (4 goals, 9 points, -2)

Preview Notes: The Toronto Maple Leafs travel to sunny California to lose try for their first victory against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Ducks have been off to a much slower start than expected. Bobby Ryan is not producing even close to the pace he did last year and star center Ryan Getzlaf only has 1 goal on the season. Their defense has been a bit shaky and the penalty kill is the 5th worst in the NHL. They have been outscored 15-6 in their last 3 games.

Toronto's problems are well documented. The offense has been bad (NHL low 15 goals for), the defense has been bad (tied for second worst in the league with 35 goals against) and the goaltending has been bad (see: Vesa Toskala, Joey MacDonald).

In a potential bright spot rookie Jonas Gustavsson is expected to return to the net tonight. Gustavsson had been on the IR since October 6th with an injured groin. Playing in front of a historically bad defense, Gustavsson leads Leafs goalies with a 3.09 GAA and a .894 save percentage.

The way both teams are struggling this could get ugly fast. Have your barf bags ready.

Injury Report For Toronto, goalie Vesa Toskala made the trip but is not expected to dress (knee). Phil Kessel is still on the IR (shoulder, being a douche bag). MIke Van Ryn is out the reason of the season (knee).

For Anaheim, goalie J.S. Giguere tripped on his tears and re-aggravated a groin injury and will not play. Ryan Carter is on the IR (foot). Evgeny Artyukin is suspended for a slew-foot, but that idiot Ovechkin does the same thing and wipes his ass with a paltry fine. Awesome job NHL. Really. Vomit.

Preview: Islanders Visit All Midget Show in Montreal!

Verses: New York Islanders

Montreal Canadiens Record: 5-5-0 (4th in the Northeast)

New York Islanders Record: 1-4-4 (Last in the Atlantic)

Canadiens Record vs. Islanders Since 2005: 12-3-1-1

Canadiens Likely Goalie: Jaroslav Halak

Islanders Likely Goalie: Martin Biron

Canadiens top scorer Mike Cammalleri (5 goals, 11 points, +3)

Islanders top scorer Matt Moulson (5 goals, 8 points, +0)

Preview Notes: When the Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders met 4 days ago, there was a bit of a role reversal as the smaller kids from Montreal bent over the taller adults from New York and absolutely spanked them, 5-1.

The Islanders theoretically will look for revenge but Jaroslav Halak is on a hot streak and the Islanders just really are not that good.

Now, the Islanders are not necessarily as awful as their record indicates as they've lost 4 games in either a shoot out or overtime and only have a -3 goals for/goals against differential. John Tavares has basically been as advertised. But they're young and still coming together (well, other than Doug Weight who has be around 72).

The Canadiens are on a three game win streak and coach promised to get everyone pizza and chocolate shakes after the game if the kids could bring that streak to 4. Halak has been in net for each of the last three victories and is making a case to become the starter over Carey Price.

Injury Report The Islanders are without goalie Rick Dipietro (knee, hips, pride) and forward Trent Hunter (torn pec muscle, ouch). Doug Weight is trying to fight off dementia the flu and is not with the team. Montreal will be without Andrei Markov (sliced tendon) and Ryan O'Byrne (knee).

Bruins Do Doggy Style, Beat Ottawa

Three Stars:
1. Milan Michalek
2. Tim Thomas
3. Derek Morris

Final Score:
Boston Bruins: 4
Ottawa Senators: 3

Goalie Stats
Tim Thomas: SV: 27 SV%: .900 GA: 3
Brian Elliot: SV: 25 SV%: .893 GA: 3

Recap Notes:Down 3-1 with less than 2 minutes left in the third, the Boston Bruins came from behind to tie the game at 3-3 and eventually win the game in the shootout.

The game was back and forth with great goal-tending from both sides through the first two periods.

Tim Thomas was on his game... still not sure how he saved this:

But in the third Ottawa scored twice just two minutes apart (Milan Michalek and Mike Fisher) to seemingly put the game out of reach.

But then the Bruins visited the wizard and got some heart. With Tim Thomas on the bench, 1,500 game man Mark Recchi tipped a Derek Morris slap shot past Elliot to cut the deficit by one.

Just over a minute later, Tim Thomas went back to the bench and the Bruins went back to work. Again Derek Morris launched a rocket, David Krejci grabbed the rebound and "Score!"

Overtime featured a lot of chances but no one could convert. In the shoot out, Patrice Bergeron managed to juuuuuuuuuuuust squeeze a shot past Elliot and Thomas made the big save at the other end to secure the victory and a much needed 2 points for the Bruins.

Leafs Loss Again, Off to Worst Start in Club History

Three Stars:
1. Roberto Luongo
2. Mason Raymond
3. Joey MacDonald

Final Score:
Vancouver Canucks: 3
Toronto Maple Leafs: 1

Goalie Stats
Roberto Luongo: SV: 35 SV%: .972 GA: 1
Joey MacDonald: SV: 22 SV%: .917 GA: 2

Recap Notes: Roberto Luongo played lights out and was just a goal better than Joey MacDonald as the Toronto Maple Leafs fell once again.

Admittedly this was probably Toronto's best effort of the season, but it is hard to build momentum when your own defenseman are putting goals in your net.

Mike Komisarek scored another goal, but unfortunately it was for the Canucks. Mason Raymond put a shot on net that was swept in by the idiotic Mike Homosarek.

Both of Vancouver's first period goals were scored on the power play. The Maple Leafs have the inability to play disciplined or kill a penalty, two of the biggest reasons they are win-less on the season. Still think it was a good idea to bring in a bunch of goons and undisciplined kids Burke?

The Maple Leafs did manage to put up 36 shots but they could only beat Luongo once, who is heating up and just played nuts. When you combine a hot goalie and Toronto's non-existent offense, you usually end up with a defeat.

And as if defeating the Maple Leafs on the scoreboard wasn't enough, the Canucks Tanner Glass tangled with Luke Schenn and introduced his fists to Schenn's face... repeatedly.
