Preview: Bruins Head To The Desert.

Verses: Phoenix Coyotes

Boston Bruins Record: 3-3-0 (3rd in the Northeast)

Coyotes Record: 4-2-0 (1st in the Pacific)

Bruins Record vs. Coyotes Since 2005: Boston is 1-1-1

Bruins Likely Goalie: Tim Thomas

Coyotes Likely Goalie: Ilya Bryzgalov

Preview Notes: In their one meeting last season the Coyotes pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Bruins at home. At the beginning of the season this match up seemed like an easy win for the Bruins, however they have been very inconsistent and the Coyotes, supported by strong goal tending, have been an early season surprise.

The Bruins are coming off a strong effort against the Stars, but they followed their strong effort against the Hurricanes by getting blown out by the Ducks. Which Bruins team will show up today?

The Bruins power play has obviously been weak but they will need a strong effort against Bryzgalov, who is 4-1 this season with 2 shutouts, a 1.17 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.

Marc Savard has 7 points in the past 5 games and will need to keep up his strong play. It would also help if he would shoot instead of passing when he sees a wide open net.

With the Sabres on a hot streak the Bruins could really use a victory here to keep pace.
