The Ottawa Senators have signed defenseman Matt Carkner to a 2 year, 1 way, contract extension for a total of $1.4 million.
The 29 year old "rookie" has been a pleasant surprise for the Senators so far this season and is tied for 4th place in the NHL with three fights. Not bad. Hopefully Carkner can keep up his solid play and leave the AHL behind.
